FlapJack-Tastic!

18th ANNUAL FLAPJACK RUN

The 18th Annual Flapjack Run was held on Saturday, June 25 in downtown Jasper.  At the starting line  on North Main Street,  over 100 runners took off down S. Main Street to Little Avenue and back again with the finish line behind the Jasper Methodist Church.  Although it was hot, the runners made great time, drank lots of water and enjoyed the overall experience.   Following the race, the runners and families returned to Main Street where a delicious flapjack breakfast was provided by 61 Main Restaurant.

Once the results were tabulated, Parish Lowrie, Optimist Club Flapjack Race Chair, announced the overall winners and winners by age category.  Top winners received
skillets while age category winners received a spatula.  A special thanks to all our sponsors including Royston LLC (Gold level), Day's Chevrolet, Parish Lowrie State Farm and Community Bank of Pickens County (Silver Level) and Bronze level sponsors:  Appleton Family, Bill and Susan Gibson, Piedmont Mountainside Hospital, R & R Body Shop, The Last Catch Seafood Restaurant, Party Time Sales & Rentals, Trinity Custom Homes and Jasper Jeep Dodge Chrysler Ram.    Great tee shirts were designed and provided by Sharp Mountain Graphics.

"We had another great turnout for this year's Optimist Club of Jasper Flapjack 5K. The club would like to thank all those who participated as well as our sponsors, without whom this race would not be possible. All proceeds from the race go to benefit organizations that
support youth in Pickens County."  stated by Parish Lowrie.
