Rising PHS Freshman Nick DiPuma performed two classical guitar works for the July 3rd breakfast meeting. Nick recently returned from the University of Georgia Summer Music Institute and Camp, where he was selected to represent the Guitar studio in the Institute's Honor Recital.

On June 19, the Optimist Club of Jasper awarded their first Mountain Education Charter High School Scholarship to Crystal Buckingham, daughter of Rodney and Traci Buckingham. While
attended MECHS for her senior year, she also took additional college courses at
Chattahoochee Tech. Starting this fall, Crystal Crystal will be attending in
Dahlonega. North Georgia
On July 3, the Optimist Club of Jasper awarded their first Von J. Hinton Memorial Citizenship Scholarship to Ali Lawson, daughter of Al and Terri Lawson. Ali graduated from
Pickens High School
and will be attending
this fall. In attendance were two of
Von’s daughters, Robin Brooks and Dianna Hinton. Young
The Optimist Club of Jasper is pleased to recognize two outstanding young students of our community who we know will be making us all proud as they continue to pursue their dreams.
The mission of the Optimist Club is “bringing out the best in kids”. Our fundraisers throughout the year provide funding for many scholarships as well as donations to kids-oriented organizations in our community. Like to be part of this great organization? Guests and new members welcome.
