Madison Lawson, a student at Wildwood Christian School and the entrant sponsored by the Optimist Club of Jasper, will compete at the area contest, the next level of competition in the GATEway District Oratorical contest. The zone oratorical contest was held in Canton on March 19 and Madison beat all other female speakers, all of whom were older than Madison. After winning zone she will proceed to compete at the area contest to be held in Gainesville on April 16. The topic for all speakers is: “How My Best Brings Out the Best in Others”. Members of the Optimist Club of Jasper are extremely pleased with Madison Lawson and the wonderful performance that she gave at the zone level. We wish her much success competing at Gainesville in four weeks.

You don't want to miss this special program to see how we meet our mission of "bringing out the best in kids!"
We expect a full house so some of the members may need to sit at the tables up against the back windows.
Yes, it will be dark again in the morning but the sun will rise during our meeting for a beautiful view across the mountains from the dining room of the Woodbridge Inn.

The Optimist Club of Jasper welcomed Allen Wigington, Chief Magistrate for Pickens County. Both our Educational System and our Court system are going beyond expectations. The Magistrate court operates 24/7 and moves cases along with 43 days. Collaboration between the Magistrate, Superior and Probate courts provides Pickens County with an efficient judicial branch.
